The Big News!

We’re opening a brand-new yoga and meditation studio! The Get Centered Studio is a game-changer. Why? Because our studio provides therapeutic-grade yoga, meditation, and sound bath experiences.

And guess what? Your insurance probably covers it.

Yep. You read that right. Your insurance will pay for you to practice yoga and meditation with us. And it might not even cost you anything.

But How?

Each class is either led or supervised by a licensed clinician. Sometimes our clinicians are the instructors, offering amazing classes like Yoga for Trauma or Yoga for Teens. Other times our experienced instructors are leading Yoga Nidra for Stress and Sound Bath Meditations, while a clinician is sitting in and soaking up all the health benefits at the same time.

Because of the way we structure our studio, all of our classes can be billed to insurance. If you have a small copay, attending the Get Centered Studio could be completely free, or even just $2-$3 per class. And if you have an insurance plan that leaves you with a larger copay or deductible, we offer a self-pay membership option that you can use your HSA/FSA account for!

To figure out what it might cost you for us to bill your insurance, just give us a call!

Why Open a Studio?

Each day we learn more and more about trauma (or PTSD), anxiety, and other stress-related conditions. The landscape of our industry is changing rapidly. In order to truly shepherd our clients along their own unique path of recovery, healing, and sustained wellness, we are obligated to both consume and actualize the science that is readily at our fingertips.

For the last century, every textbook and professor has taught us that some method of talking about our depression, anxiety, stress, or trauma will resolve them. And this is partially true. Talk therapy has been lifesaving and life-giving for millions. But what science now makes clear is that talking is not the complete picture.

If you haven’t read The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma by Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk, you’re missing out. The title says it all… What you endure is imprinted in your body. You know this on a deep level. That stress you feel from an impossible to-do list shows up as pain in your shoulders, your neck, your jawline. The all-consuming tasks associated with balancing work, children, the chores, the bills shows up in your body in the form of headaches, stomach aches, and short tempers.

No matter how much insight and understanding we develop around the situations that keep us trapped in anxiety, trauma, and stress, if we don’t pay attention to the impact it has on our bodies, we are only healing part of ourselves. “The body keeps the score.”

The research is clear: focusing on the way we breathe, creating opportunities to be present, and practicing yoga regularly have been demonstrated to alleviate physical and mental health conditions, as well as enhancing overall well-being. In fact, the evidence in support of therapeutic approaches to yoga has been so profound that some programs with a strong emphasis in yoga and meditation have been fully covered by Medicare and Medicaid.
