Essence Johnson graduated from Salisbury University in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Art. Before joining CTSA, she worked at a learning center as an Assistant Teacher for toddlers and absolutely loved it!
Essence particularly enjoyed watching the children grow and encouraging them to reach their developmental milestones while building on the knowledge she gained in developmental psychology at SU. She has a passion for helping others and loves supporting clients in taking the big step to work through difficulties they may be facing.

Darcy Whitehead
Administrative Assistant
She/her/hers
In my previous role, I served as an Administrative Assistant for an engineering company, where I developed strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment. I am currently attending CCBC pursuing Behavioral Health, with plans to earn my degree in Psychology. Mental health has always been deeply meaningful to me—I’m often the person friends and family turn to when they need someone to truly listen. Supporting others comes naturally, and I’m passionate about creating a safe, understanding space for those around me.
I’m also a proud mom to a teenage son, which has strengthened my patience, resilience, and empathy. Customer service has always been something I genuinely enjoy, and I’ve held various roles over the years—from serving to bartending, which I’ve done on and off for the past six years. These experiences have shaped my ability to connect with people from all walks of life and provide attentive, thoughtful service.
