Essence Johnson

Essence Johnson graduated from Salisbury University in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Art. Before joining CTSA, she worked at a learning center as an Assistant Teacher for toddlers and absolutely loved it!

Essence particularly enjoyed watching the children grow and encouraging them to reach their developmental milestones while building on the knowledge she gained in developmental psychology at SU. She has a passion for helping others and loves supporting clients in taking the big step to work through difficulties they may be facing.

Amari Willis

Administrative Assistant

Amari Willis arrived at CTSA after spending the last seven years working as a certified medical assistant. Currently, Amari attends The University of Maryland Global Campus in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Communication. Amari is excited to be completing her degree this year! 

Amari is a fierce advocate of the importance of mental health, especially in children, as she is also a mom to her 6 year old daughter. Amari plans on furthering her education by obtaining a Masters in clinical professional counseling with the hopes of becoming a therapist for children one day.

In Amari’s free time, she enjoys spending time with family, working out, watching football (go Ravens!!!), and trying new restaurants!

Carrie Lombardo

Administrative Assistant

Carrie comes to CTSA with extensive experience in the medical and mental health fields, beginning her career after graduating from trade school at age 18. She started as a Medical Assistant in Primary Care and later worked in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatry settings. After a brief stint as a 911 Dispatcher, Carrie transitioned into administrative roles within the mental health field. Prior to joining CTSA, she worked in a call center for a major psychiatric hospital system and as a receptionist for an outpatient Substance Use and Behavioral Health Clinic.


Outside of work, Carrie enjoys cooking, watching True Crime documentaries, listening to music, and finding activities and events to enjoy with her four children. She also cherishes time spent with her new husband, her two cats, her family, and close friends.
